Your Guide to the Keys

Key Largo (MM 106 - 91)

Key Largo, the largest and most northern of the Upper Keys Islands bordered on the south by Tavernier Creek and the north by Jewfish Creek, stretches for 15 miles from Mile Marker 91 to the county line at Mile Marker 106. Known as the "Diving Capital of the World".

Plantation Key (MM 91-86)
Plantation Key, the first and largest island of Islamorada is primarily residential, but offers several neighborhood business centers with shopping, offices, and small resorts. Bordered by Taveriner Creek ans Snake Creek, Plantation Key runs from Mile Marker 91 to 86 ending with a drawbridge allowing large boat access to the ocean and bay. 

Windley Key (MM 86-84)
As the smallest Islamorada Island, Windley Key sits between Snake Creek and Whale Harbor. The 3 mile stretch of Windley Key is from Mile Marker 86 to Mile Marker 84. Primarily a commercial island with resorts, marinas, restaurants, and bars. Windley Key also has several residential properties ranging from mobile homes, condominiums to waterfront estates. 

Upper Matecumbe (MM 84-80)
Considered the business hub of Islamorada, Upper Matecumbe sits between Whale Harbor Channel and Channel 2 Bridge. Upper Matecumbe stretches from Mile Marker 84 to Mile Marker 80 comprised of numerous businesses and a large residential presence. Upper Matecumbe has so many things to offer within a short distance. Many residents prefer to walk or bicycle around the island to reach their destinations. 

Lower Matecumbe (MM 78-74)
Primarily a residential island, Lower Matecumbe runs from Channel 2 Bridge to Channel 5 Bridge,Mile Marker 78 to Mile Marker 74. At either end there are marinas, but being a very narrow island, most properties run from the Overseas Highway to either the ocean or the bay. The exception is on the lower end of the island where there are a couple of canal subdivisions which feed to the bay. 

Long Key (MM 74-65)
Long Key is a long thin island running from Channel 5, Mile Marker 74, to the Long Key viaduct, Mile Marker 65. At the upper end sits a RV Resort located on Fiesta Key. In the center of Long Key is the city of Layton, once known as "Layton's Long Key Fishing Camp".
